ISS Switzerland is part of a global network of mediators specialised in international family conflicts and child abduction and can put parents in contact with certified professionals in other countries.
We receives requests for mediation to resolve transnational conflicts concerning parental responsibility, visitation rights and contact between the children and the parent living in another country. Such requests may be received within the context of the application of the Federal Act on International Child Abduction (BG-KKE), on behalf of the KESB, the child protection services or directly from the persons concerned.
ISS Switzerland refers parents to international family mediation after assessing the situation and when our multidisciplinary team considers this approach to be appropriate and of added value.
We analyse the relevance and feasibility of mediation according to the established principles of the Charta for International Family Mediation Processes. If all conditions are met, the mediation can take place in Switzerland or by videoconference.
We also raises awareness and train professionals in the field of international family mediation in CAS, DAS or MAS trainings or other training courses in Switzerland.
